Today we have for our consideration one report"},{"t":11,"text":"from a Committee of the Whole, two bylaws for preliminary"},{"t":14,"text":"readings and one item of closed business. But of course,"},{"t":18,"text":"before we begin our work together, we always like to"},{"t":21,"text":"take a moment to take a breath and to ground"},{"t":24,"text":"ourselves in a recognition of the remarkable relationship and generosity"},{"t":29,"text":"of the First Nations on whose territories, our city sits"},{"t":33,"text":"in its entirety. Of course, those are the La Quangan"},{"t":35,"text":"people of the Sanjo. Good Lord. I was thinking of"},{"t":38,"text":"different that of the Zonkees people. It's a Song East"},{"t":40,"text":"Nation and the Coasepsumnation. It has been a long day"},{"t":43,"text":"already. My apologies. The two nations whose territories we currently"},{"t":49,"text":"occupy have been stewarded for so many generations. And the"},{"t":53,"text":"output outcome, the result of those stewardships have been. So"},{"t":57,"text":"clearly evident to us, in every day that we have"},{"t":60,"text":"the opportunity and privilege to do our work and live"},{"t":62,"text":"our lives here on these lands. And sometimes on the"},{"t":66,"text":"waters that surround them. We have had many opportunities to"},{"t":69,"text":"create a very rich relationship with both nations, and those"},{"t":73,"text":"opportunities continue remarkably well and frequently due to their generosity."},{"t":78,"text":"We will have another opportunity very soon next week as"},{"t":81,"text":"we help to sponsor and support and volunteer at a"},{"t":87,"text":"very special opportunity for there to be an elder's luncheon"},{"t":90,"text":"at Songhees next Wednesday. We're elders from around the island"},{"t":94,"text":"actually will join together and be respected and fetted with"},{"t":97,"text":"an opportunity to be fed and nurtured and supported. And"},{"t":101,"text":"so we look forward to that another example that is"},{"t":105,"text":"of the way that we work together and that we"},{"t":107,"text":"show our respect and thanks. It is so important for"},{"t":111,"text":"us to take a moment and to just think about"},{"t":114,"text":"all the times that we've had to work together to"},{"t":117,"text":"dream together and to come together in a way which"},{"t":120,"text":"considers, of course, we hope the past and all the"},{"t":122,"text":"work that's gone before, as well as the challenges, all"},{"t":126,"text":"of us face and each of our communities, these portion"},{"t":128,"text":"of our community, and to look together for how we"},{"t":131,"text":"can make the best decisions considering all of that, but"},{"t":134,"text":"looking first to the future. With that, we always like"},{"t":137,"text":"to say thank you in the language of the La"},{"t":139,"text":"Quangan people in a simplistic term is simply to say"},{"t":141,"text":"hidroxicasium nequalia, which is to say thank you, and to"},{"t":144,"text":"express our gratitude and offer our thanks to all those"},{"t":147,"text":"who choose to take a moment each day in our"},{"t":150,"text":"community and do something that makes one person's life a"},{"t":153,"text":"little better. That is item F1AA,"},{"t":190,"text":"the rezoning application and development permit with variances application for"},{"t":195,"text":"741 fistCard Street. Item F1AB, the appointment of Bylaw officers,"},{"t":201,"text":"item F1AC, a Council memberMOTion confirming the framework agreement for"},{"t":205,"text":"Section 5 Police Funding, item G1, the Bylaw for 2501"},{"t":210,"text":"through 2699 Blanchardt Street, 825 and 841 Hillside Avenue, 2500"},{"t":217,"text":"through 2684 dollar place. That would be the housing agreement"},{"t":221,"text":"associated with that. And item G2, the housing agreement bylaw"},{"t":226,"text":"for 1101 Yates Street. I will just confirm for people"},{"t":229,"text":"that all of these items were either endorsed unanimously at"},{"t":233,"text":"the Committee of the Whole or are in fact preliminary"},{"t":235,"text":"readings of bylaws. Would anyone like to remove any of"},{"t":239,"text":"those items. Senion, would someone like to move the consent"},{"t":244,"text":"agenda? That is unanimous."},{"t":253,"text":"Moving on to reports of committees, as we just noted,"},{"t":255,"text":"items F1AAF1AB and F1AC, which are from the report from"},{"t":261,"text":"the July 9th Committee of the whole meeting, where each"},{"t":263,"text":"placed on the consent agenda, I will again read those"},{"t":266,"text":"just for the record. That is the rezoning application and"},{"t":268,"text":"development permit with variances application for 741 fist card street."},{"t":272,"text":"The appointment of Bylaw officers, the Council Member Motion confirming"},{"t":275,"text":"with the framework agreement suction by police funding, all of"},{"t":278,"text":"those were carried unanimously, and simply rather adopted right now"},{"t":282,"text":"as part of our consent agenda. And as we are"},{"t":284,"text":"at daytime council, those decisions are final. Item F1B rather"},{"t":291,"text":"would be a report from our Committee with a whole"},{"t":293,"text":"earlier today, but there were no items from today's committee"},{"t":295,"text":"with a hole that required same day consideration. So there's"},{"t":299,"text":"that point. The bylaws at G1, the Bylaw for 2501"},{"t":303,"text":"- 2699 Blanchard, 825, 841 Hillside, 2500 through 2684 dollar"},{"t":309,"text":"and 900 Kings Road. The housing agreements. We're all just"},{"t":312,"text":"placed on the consent agenda, and so we'll return to"},{"t":314,"text":"us for final consideration next week. And G2, the housing"},{"t":318,"text":"agreement for the Bylaw of 11018 Street, preliminary readings for"},{"t":322,"text":"second and third.
